ATV Jungle Tour, Riviera Maya, Mexico 2012

During my trip to Cancun i went on ATV Jungle tour near Playa del Carmen. It was a guided tour around the jungle with stops at Cenote and cave.

On the picture below is my Mexican tour guide riding ATV with one hand at 35 mph and speaking on the phone at the same time.

2.
It was a really cool race as that day there weren't any other tourists and this guy gave us an individual tour. The entire jungle was ours and i could try to squeeze max speed out of 4 wheel bike. There were so many turns there so if this dude didn't guide us we could definitely get lost.

Tulum, Riviera Maya, Mexico 2012

Tulum is another popular tourist destination located in Riviera Maya and just 1.5 hour drive from Cancun. Tulum was one of the last cities inhabited and built by the Mayans and also was a major city port for their civilization.

I saw many times pictures of Tulum's ruins in travel magazines and always wanted to go there and see it on my own. And here it is, my dream came true.

Half Dome, Yosemite Park, CA

If you are looking for hiking or camping in the forest with waterfalls, creeks and lots of wild  animals running around then you have to go to Yosemite National  Park in Northern California.  In this post i will tell you about Half Dome Trail, another extraordinary hike in North America.  It's like I've read somewhere -  Half Dome is the ultimate Yosemite day hike - the one you can't die without doing, and the one you're most likely to die while doing.

REI Members Sale Sunday in Tustin.

I always say that for memorable and enjoyable backpacking or camping trip you need a professional gear. It is like having a comfortable shoes for a long walk. You don't want any surprises during your hike. I always consider REI Store like one of the best places to buy reliable outdoor gear and clothes. But they are pretty expensive. Recently i found out that REI is going to do Members Only used gear sale. They usually sell stuff after returns, opened box etc. To become REI member you have to pay only $20 but you can save much more then that, a specially if you need to buy multiple items.

IF you need any outdoor gear and you want to save come to REI Store in Tustin on Sunday June 17, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm  at 2962 El Camino Real, at Jamboree Rd., on the Tustin side of The Market Place.

Expect deals of 50-90% off gently used gear.

Havasupai, Grand Canyon, AZ (Part 2.Waterfalls)

The hike from Hilltop to Supai Village was just the beginning of adventure. Another 2 mile hike beyond the village will take you to the paradise on the Earth. You can explore 5 fantastic waterfalls, they are all different, each has its own "personality" and incredible views.

Havasupai, Grand Canyon, AZ (Part 3. Silver Mine)

During our trip to Havasupai Indian Reservation one of my friends spotted  an old mine in Carbonite Canyon near Havasu Falls. We asked locals about it and a woman said that it was silver mine but she wasn't sure.  After i came back home i tried to find  what kind of mine it was on the internet. The only information i found was that during the late 1800s and early 1900s, miners searched for minerals throughout the Havasupai area. Most of the major activity took place in Carbonate Canyon near Havasu Falls, but tunnels and other evidence of mining activity can be found all along Havasu Creek from Havasu Falls to the Colorado River.

Havasupai, Grand Canyon, AZ (Part 1. Supai Village)

That was another lifetime trip. Magnificent Grand Canyon. Many of you probably have been to Grand Canyon Village or Skywalk and observed the canyon from the top. But did you think that people still live there? Yes, i am talking about real Indians - Native Americans.

When i found out about this fact i could not resist to go there and see it on my own.
