Cancun, Mexico - Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa

The Dreams Cancun All-Inclusive Resort and Spa is located at the shore point known as Punta Cancun, and surrounded on three sides by turquoise Caribbean Sea.  The Resort has perfect location. It’s about 15 minutes from Cancun International Airport and just steps away from Shopping Mall, Bars and Night Clubs.

During my trip to Cancun I stayed at this wonderful place and would like to share my experience.

Before I begin my story I would like to tell you a few words about my flight from LAX to Cancun.

2.

This time we flew with United Airlines on Airbus A-320. When I got inside the airplane I was a little disappointed by noticing that it was old. The Airplane doesn’t have personal LCD screens in the seats. They only have screens in the ceiling every three rows. This means that during 5 hour flight you have to watch only TV shows they are showing or you can rent a portable DVD player with movies, if you don’t have your own one, or iPad. Flight attendants were nice, but I dodn’t understand where the young generation of flight attendants disappeared? Both ways we were accompanied by staff who is around 45-50.

Our seats were in Economy Plus class. The seats rows are located just behind 1st class and have twice and some rows 3 times more leg room than regular economy class.  I was so blessed to have those seats during the long flight. There is so much leg room that sometimes you feel like you are in first class. The difference is that you don’t have leather seats as in the first class and if you are hungry, you need to buy food and alcohol, it’s complimentary in the first class.
You can get these seats on this flight to Cancun at a check-in or upgrade inside the airplane for $59.00 (flight attendants accept credit cards only). As many people decide not to do so, the Economy Plus is usually half empty. That again gave me a feeling of 1st class, as we got on the plane right after 1st class passengers and nobody was sitting around us.

Overall, everything was fine, we had smooth landing and arrived even earlier than originally scheduled. Will be flying with them in the future.

Now, a few pictures of the Dreams Hotel room. I didn’t have a professional camera with me this time so some pictures are not that clear.  This Resort is considered to have 4 stars and if you stay here you shouldn't expect the “wow” factor. In my opinion, it is a decent Resort, definitely needs some remodeling, but it is reasonably priced, it has perfect location, great food, exceptional service and it has Delphinium - all of that make this resort one of the best choices from  All-inclusive Resorts in Cancun.

Bathing stuff was presented by "Pevonia".

We had Deluxe Ocean and Dolphins View Room in Pyramid building on the top 5th floor. Balcony views follow.

All palm trees have coconuts.

14.
Open bar between the lagoon and Caribbean Sea.

15.
Every hotel in Cancun has its own personality.  And I noticed one thing: there are different signs on restroom's doors in different countries and different places . This is how to recognize women's restroom at Dreams:

and men's  J

17.
Every day they have Dolphins shows in Lagoon. You can swim with dolphins and become a part of the show for $159. Or if you have a Dolphin View Room, you can enjoy the show all day long from your balcony, meanwhile drinking tropical cocktails.  As you have 24-hr room service you can order any drinks and food from the room menu over the phone .

I found this uninhabited piece of land behind the resort. Probably not many people knew about it as i was there by myself.

25.
Every morning you can mix yourself a Bloody Mary or Mimosa at World Café and Buffet.

26
At the Oceana Restaurant, waiters will bring menu to you on the stand…

26.
Resort has 5 restaurants, and for 6 nights stay we didn’t have enough time to try their entire menu. But I love sea food and tried to enjoy it as much as I could J

Don’t remember the other plates’ names but this one “Rib-eye” at “Seaside Grill”- restaurant. So good.

33.
Of course try sushi at “Himitsu”. I liked their “Dreams” rolls.

34.
If you or someone from your party has a birthday, they will make a complimentary Birthday cake for you and will sing a Happy Birthday song with entire kitchen crew.

Resort's pier.

36.
37.
All non-motorized activities are included in all-inclusive price. But you need to pay for jet ski, snorkeling tours,  etc.

38.
This is the place where you can arrange all water activities for you and your family.

39.
These three gazebos are used by Spa at day time and in the evening you can reserve it for a private romantic dinner.

40.
Those guys just came back from diving tour.

41.
42.
Can you drive 2 jet skis at the same time?

43.
44.
In the evenings the intertainment team provides with different shows and activities.

45.
Paloma Bonita- Mexican Restaurant is one of the All-inclusive restaurants of the Dreams Cancun and located outside of the Resort and to get there you have to make a reservation with concierge. Very good place to eat, you will feel real Mexican atmosphere and try delicious local food.

Night life in Cancun is very colorful. If you've ever been to Las Vegas and you like night clubs and dancing then Cancun is the place for you. So many clubs just on one street, you can visit one after another all night long.

51.
This is a Mexican restaurant and bar, where every few minutes waiters take guests outside for salsa dance.

52.
And of course you will see a signature of Cancun “Coco Bongo” Night Club. If you like musicals, dance shows, carnival and just enjoy club atmosphere, then you must visit “Coco Bongo.”

53.
54.
Almost all clubs in Cancun have open bar, for the fee around $55 per ticket you can drink as much as you can handle.

55.
“The City” Night Club, best day to go is Friday, as club gets pretty full. Promoters bring tourists from all nearby hotels and club has the best show.

56.
Show at “Coco Bongo”

57.
58.
After club I stopped by and bought burrito from a local guy. Even though I know you shouldn't buy any food on the streets because you never know how it’s going to affect you, I still couldn't resist the urge, and it was the best burrito I've ever eaten. Still alive J

59.
This is a “Bulldog” Club, I have heard it's a good club too.

In my next post about Mexico I will write about:

  3. Thanks for reviews and have fun on your trip. Just FYI the tours cheaper to buy outside the hotel. Just few steps from the hotel on the way to Cancun's center there are tour-booths.
