Orange County Fair 2012

Every summer OC Fair is held in the city of Costa Mesa. It brings along tons of fun to its visitors. And today i am going to give you a little tour around OC Fair so you can see what is going on there.  

This year the dates for OC Fair are July 13- August 12.  OC Fair is open Wednesdays through Sundays, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Its hours: Weekdays noon to midnight, Saturdays and Sundays 10 am to midnight. For those who haven't been there this year there is still time to go. 

OC Fair address is  Orange County Fairgrounds, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, CA.

OC Fair tickets: General $11, Seniors (60+) $8, Children (6-12) $6, Five and under Free. Season Passes are available.

Parking: $7, $14 preferred parking and buses

Once you get to the gate you will be asked to show your bag or backpack. Security wants to make sure you don't bring any food or alcohol with you. After check-in you can go to a cashier and buy tickets.  

When you get inside, you can see a livestock shows and competitions, pig races, vegetable and garden exhibits, and equestrian events. There are also  carnival rides, home arts and crafts, local youth and adults performing, motocross, circus acts, demolition derby and lots of fair food and drinks (yes, they serve alcohol as well). Technology is well-represented too with all kinds of gadgets demonstrated and sold in the exhibit halls.
There are free concerts, magicians and acrobats at various stages around the fairgrounds and ticketed sports events and concerts in the OC Arena as well as ticketed concerts at the Pacific Amphitheater. Concert ticket prices include admission to the Orange County Fair. You can watch or participate in different competitions, for example  karaoke.

There are lots of kiosks with goodies and souvenirs. This is one of the vendors, he took me behind the scene of the OC fair and gave me a brief tour; he also introduced me to Russians who work for OC Fair.   It was very nice of him.

You won't stay hungry as you can find food everywhere.

Also you can participate in many games for a prize.

Sometimes a prize is that big you will be tired to carry it and you will need a baby carriage.

And of course you will have tons of fun on carousels.

You can enjoy a nice view of Orange County if you take a ride on Ferris wheel.

There is also a little zoo where you can feed animals.

Or you can take a cable car ride and "fly" over the fair.

Let's move to exhibition. Here you can find everything  from little frying pan  to big Jacuzzi.
